Nothing 2027 Smartphones: Big Plans Ahead — Check Out What's Coming

Nothing 2027 smartphone lineup teaser

Nothing Is Preparing a Much Bigger Smartphone Lineup

Nothing has announced plans to significantly expand its smartphone lineup in 2027. According to Akis Evangelidis, Co-founder and India President of the company, Nothing is aiming to launch more than twice as many smartphones next year compared to 2026.

The company introduced three smartphones in 2026: the Nothing Phone (4a), Nothing Phone (4a) Pro and Nothing Phone (4b). Based on its announcement, the number of launches in 2027 could exceed six.

However, Nothing has not revealed the names, specifications or launch dates of these upcoming smartphones. More details are expected closer to their respective launches.

Nothing Is Bringing Its Community Closer to Upcoming Devices

Nothing is involving selected community members in its upcoming product development through an initiative at its India headquarters in Delhi.

  • Early access: Selected fans can preview upcoming devices.
  • Feedback: Participants can share their opinions directly.
  • Community input: A chance for fans to contribute to the development process.

What We Still Don't Know

Nothing has yet shared the key details of its 2027 smartphone lineup.

  • Phone names: Which new models are in development?
  • Specifications: What upgrades will they bring?
  • Pricing: Will the lineup cover more price segments?
  • Launch dates: When will the new phones arrive?

Could the RAM Crisis Become a Challenge?

  • AI demand is driving the shortage: AI data centres require large amounts of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), encouraging manufacturers to prioritise AI-related memory production.
  • Consumer memory supply is under pressure: This is tightening the availability of conventional DRAM and NAND memory used in smartphones.
  • Memory prices are increasing: TrendForce expects conventional DRAM contract prices to rise by 10–15% and NAND Flash prices by 15–20% in Q4 2026.
  • Smartphone production faces higher costs: Rising memory costs are putting additional pressure on smartphone manufacturers.
  • The situation could continue into 2027: Memory supply is expected to remain constrained as AI-related demand continues to grow.

What This Could Mean for Nothing's 2027 Plans

Expanding the smartphone lineup could help Nothing reach more buyers, but launching more devices during a memory-cost crisis also brings additional challenges.

  • Pricing will matter: Higher memory costs could make it harder to keep upcoming phones competitively priced.
  • More models mean more pressure: Nothing will need to manage component costs, production and software support across a larger lineup.
  • Clear product positioning is essential: Each new phone should offer a meaningful difference rather than simply increasing the launch count.

Our view: Nothing's expansion plans are ambitious, but their success will depend on how well the company balances a bigger lineup with competitive pricing and product quality.
